EVENTS

  • St. Paul, Preble Bazaar.

The Ladies Aid of St. Paul, Preble will be hosting our Autumn Bazaar and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 15th from 10:30AM to 1PM in the fellowship hall. As in the past, we will be serving a luncheon with homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts. Also available are homemade noodles (!), decorated Christmas cookies, and the cookie corner along with a variety of baked goods. All are welcome to come and enjoy fine food and fellowship! Kelly Todd, St. Paul Ladies Aid.

  • Adult Catechism. Would you like to join St. Paul as a communicant member? Pastor Yeager is looking to form a group for adult catechism classes toward Confirmation. At this time, we have no dates/times for meeting in mind. But please speak to Pastor if you think you are ready to take this step toward membership in our congregation.

  • Voters Assembly at 7PM October 21st in the fellowship hall. To open the meeting, Scott Schumacher, the district representative for the SGO program, will be present to speak to our congregation. This portion of the meeting is open to all members who would like to learn more about the SGO program. We should also note that SGO giving at St. Paul for the year is UP SUBSTANTIALLY. Our average annual SGO giving was usually in the $20/30K range. This year, we have received over $55K in SGO funds from our faithful members. This is wonderful! Please keep up your giving, which benefits 1. Our Church, 2. Our school, 3. You, on your state and now federal taxes. If you would like to learn more about SGO giving, please join us..

  • Recovering and Homebound members. Some have asked for the addresses of the recovering and homebound, to send cards, letters, etc. For a list of addresses to send, please send us a message ON OUR CONTACT PAGE HERE! 👈

  • Bible Class and Tuesday Early-Bird Bible Class. For Sunday morning Bible Class at St. Paul, starting September 7, Pastor Yeager will begin a study of the Book of Judges. This is not a book many Lutherans are familiar with. So come to expand your knowledge of the Bible.

Don’t know who Barak is? Ehud? Want to know what the story of Samson is really all about?

It’s not what you think. Come to Bible Class. Especially those of you who are not in the habit of coming to Bible Class. This study will be well worth your time and in fact it will be more worthwhile than any activity you could otherwise be doing at 9:15AM on a Sunday morning.

  • Tuesday morning Bible Class is for all association members (Bingen, Preble, and Friedheim) and meets at 9:30AM Tuesday in the St. John, Bingen parish hall. Class have begun. We are studying the Formula of Concord. If you haven’t been before, don’t be shy. We’d love to have

you. A material (the Formula of Concord) will be provided to each attendee.

  • Church Directory. Appointments for pictures on Friday and Saturday (10/10-10/11) are completely full. There are a few openings on 10/9 remaining, but I do realize many of you

cannot make this time/date work for your schedule. What to do if you do not have an appointment? There are a couple options:
    1. Call 419-522-5011 to see if there are any photo shoots going on in the Ft. Wayne area that you might join. The company invites you to come to ANOTHER photo shoot at another Church if you’d like, and your pictures will still be included in our directory.
    2. Pay $15 to have a pre-existing picture added to our directory. We are not at this step yet, so when we get there, I will let you know how this is done.

  • Help needed. We are looking for volunteers to be present on Thursday-Saturday during the photo shoot at St. Paul, to help check in families. We need two members present in the fellowship hall at all times. If you are able to volunteer a few hours of your time to help people get checked in, please talk to a member of the Ladies Aid. They have a schedule going.

  • Cancelled Stamps - Mites for Missions. Please consider saving stamps for "Mites for Missions." What to do? Trim stamps from the envelope, leaving 1⁄4 inch margin. Place trimmed stamps into a zip lock bag. Place your stamps in the designated basket located at the back of church. Aluminum Cans. Pastor and Lynn Brege are collecting aluminum cans for

Missions. Please bring your cans (preferably crushed) to 8369 N 300 W and leave them by the barn door. All proceeds will go to local missions. Thanks!

  • A Note on Christian Stewardship: SGOs.**

Looking to save on State Taxes AND support your Church financially?

    • Give an SGO scholarship! You can benefit your Church with a donation to the SGO, AND get yourself a 50% credit against your state tax liability for your contribution. Students at Wyneken also benefit from SGO gifts. In other words, an SGO gift from a Church member is a win-win-win. Consider directing your Church giving toward an SGO scholarship. St. Paul will benefit all the same, AND you can save on taxes!
